"This area is always flooded whenever there's heavy rainfall. This is due to two main factors. First, the region's basin-like nature, and second, the disproportionate number of drainage channels," he said, Thursday (1/22).

To optimize the function of the channel so that it does not cause flooding, he added, his party will propose flood management in this area through musrenbang or direct proposals.

According to him, his agency has coordinated with the West Jakarta Social Sub-agency to anticipate basic needs and food for flood survivors, given that the flooding has submerged neighborhoods in neighborhood units (RW) 03 and 04 by up to 40 centimeters.

"As soon as the floodwaters recede, we immediately deploy personnel to carry out cleaning," he added.

He urged residents of the two affected RWs to immediately report any heavy rainfall to their RT or RW caretakers. These reports will be forwarded to the urban village, district, and city levels for immediate mitigation and response.

"If conditions are deemed unsafe, please immediately move to the evacuation center provided," he suggested.
